With the district’s recent announcement that as of now, there will be no in-person graduation for the CHS Class of 2020, the volunteers of Midnight Madness and the HSA are working to best celebrate our seniors on June 24th, the original date of graduation.
At 6pm on June 24th, we will broadcast a professionally-produced Graduate Celebration Ceremony that will feature speakers, video vignettes, messages from dignitaries and celebrities and end with a finale montage that incorporates photos and statements from the Class of 2020. Each graduate’s name and image will appear on screen over the course of the broadcast. Click here to view the program at broadcast time.
Following the broadcast, we invite everyone in our two towns to step outside their homes at 8:20pm (20:20) to make some noise for our graduates. Branded cowbells have been distributed to seniors to make some noise, and we hope the rest of our community will join them with whatever is loud enough to show their support. Make sure to use #CHSNoise2020 to post videos and photos of the moment for all to see.
PERSONALIZED LAWN SIGNS
If any senior missed picking up their personalized lawn sign last week, they are now on display in front of CHS, so go pick yours up if you can.
SOMETIMES YOU GOTTA GIVE A FLOCK a chance to rest
Thank you to everyone who was able to support our efforts to celebrate the Class of 2020 by flocking your student, friends and neighbors – we had a record number of flocks dispatched this year! We have received enough orders to take us through June 23rd, so we are no longer taking orders. The flocks will be going home on graduation day to gain strength for the Class of 2021. A HUGE THANKS goes out to our flocking team: Marietta Zacker – Director of Flocking, Alicja Crosby, Andrea Erickson, Celina Herrero, Deidra McLaughlin, Heidi Lorman, Howard Stephan, Ilena Kasdan, Jamie Halperin, Jen Vroman, Linda Thibodeau, Robin Stephan, Shana Baer, and Terrie Brodie.
Look for the flamingoes to be back next year!
The CHS Cougar Shop is back up and running for spring, featuring popular designs in tees, sweats and sweatshirts. Contactless delivery to your door in SOMA is quick and free and all purchases support our celebration campaign. Visit CHSCougarShop.com today.
As a result of the global pandemic, the 2020 Midnight Madness event has been cancelled to ensure the health and safety of our entire senior class. Midnight Madness is a 30+ year tradition at CHS and is part of the nationwide substance-free Project Graduation movement. We hope that the event will return in 2021 and, in the meantime, you can support our efforts to celebrate the Class of 2020 by purchasing merchandise at CHSCougarShop.com.
